Indonesian women, particularly on the island of Java, are exceptionally beautiful. They tend towards the very feminine side, with lovely skin, are not too tall, and have knock-out smiles. There’s plenty of plus on that side of things.
If wer’e to be honest we have to recognise that many men are interested in a woman who will take care of him, do the housework without complaint, and take care of other matters similarly without much bother. Your average Indonesian girl often fits the bill in this respect, certainly more than your average western woman, the less said about them the better.
On the other hand going out with Indonesian women in a romantic way can have many mysterious pitfalls.
Some women here are clearly only interested in money. Some men are unbothered by this. Others of the female variety, can, once we get to know them very well, come across as practically insane, hysterically emotional, scheming, over-possessive, inclined to, usually fake, attempts at self-harm in order to get their way. As I said, not for the faint-hearted.

Its annoying because until you had problem with those girls, you all will kept saying they are all nice, and me or other nice girls here are envy with your girl, and we just don’t know how kind and sweet they are.

Even if you are shy, it wont be hard for you to know a new girl here.Its a good new experience to travel solo, i like it somehow, traveling new places, and its actually open bigger chance to know new people… as if you are traveling with someone you only stick to your friend, but solo…. you are short of forced to be more open to other people 🙂 at least you will need to talk to other people to ask direction, right ? (uhmm.. i often get lost, ended with new friends)

Of course humans are similar, however culture and other socio-economic factors are very different all over the world and have an impact on what you call “personal characteristics”. These different characteristics become even more important when discussing relationships between people from developed and those from developing countries.

For God’s sake, what about the bankers that caused the GFC, what about the tobacco company execs targeting the underprivileged, what about the mining company execs (not all mining companies) that have raped these developing countries, what about the James Hardie execs? Are their professions somehow more worthy? We all “sell our souls” in one (hopefully little) way or another at some point in our lives.

Almost all of the people I talk to on FB (about 90) from Indonesia are either University educated or at University and very intelligent people. I feel privileged to know them.
Their lifestyle is very good and in fact I think it is better than here in Australia in many ways because they do not seem to suffer from the alcohol and drug culture that is taking over this country – it is destroying Australia. Also the level of violence in Perth is disgusting and I for one would not go out at night to Perth, even in a small group.
The fact that there may be a perceived high level of prostitution in some areas of Indonesia is born by lack of money and the availability of people who will pay for such a service. No other reason. No one would want to enter into such a lifestyle, the exception being of course those who like multiple partners (of their choosing). If Australians did not have such a generous scheme to support people who are quite often to f*cking lazy to get a job, then they place would be overrun by people selling anything they could, including themselves.
This easy access to good money has resulted in a low moral value of many young people in Australia who have no respect for anyone other than themselves and think that it is their right to a great lifestyle. Tied in with this is a culture that does not respect anyone, particularly anyone older than themselves. I find it quite an honour that younger people I talk to from Indonesia respect their elders.
As you may see, I am very dissillusioned with Australia and believe that we have a lot to learn from the people of places such as Indonesia which generally speaking, does not have the same average quality of life that we can enjoy in Australia.
What has this got to do with Dating Indonesian Girls? Well for me, I want to be part of Indonesia and therefore will want an Indonesian partner who I know will be a loving, intelligent, compassionate person with good moral and life values. 🙂

I tell ahoyhoy that its easier for him to know a girl here because i do think indonesian girl are not that too shy to a caucasian or expat in general. We are much more friendly.I said “to know” not to have a girlfriend that you date instantly.. u know.
If you go somewhere place, and start a conversation, just general hi, or selamat pagi at beginning, you will might end up having several girls. Its not hard to say hi, selamat pagi, or terimakasih to your room service or girl that serve you breakfast in the morning at restaurant, hotel, etc. Its a door to new friendship, maybe next time you will ask her name and she wont mind give it to you. After that maybe you could ask her places to go, or anything else, oohhh come on i dont have to tell you all of this routines !!
Just be nice to girls here, and respect them, they wont mind giving you the same, maybe more! i think same anywhere else in the world, its better to know, to start a relationship as a friend (start with simple hello every morning?)
I can’t see why its so hard to do? don’t you greet people there in western country?
Because if i met a bule/expatriate, in daily basis but they didn’t say a word to me, i will think that guy is arrogant, or not friendly one (don’t want anyone to disturb) like he sending the message “stay away from me!”.

You have missed my point … the fact is that girls from different countries/backgrounds/cultures are DIFFERENT. Not as Deta wants us to believe.
I totally agree with you that being polite to an Indo girl, regardless of her job/position, will go a long way toward her liking you. However, I have traveled extensively and believe me, most western girls do not respond so positively.

Yea.. that reminds me that the forum is titled ‘dating Indonesian girls’ instead of ‘knowing Indonesian girls’, which implies that when you’re dating someone, you’re dating the person, and no longer dating the general attributes –influenced by culture and socio economic factors- attached to the people in general, let alone seeing it as a person from developed countries dating a person from developing countries. Or is it a person from an industrialized country dating a person from a big emerging market country? 😀

Good point Adam, I’d like my own children to have an Australian childhood, at least the one that I had, roaming around getting into minor mischief, but not even sure it’s like that in australia anymore, perhaps people are too concerned with predators and such to let their kids out of their sight, but then teenagerhood, gawd I don’t want my kids to turn into Australian teenagers….
