Dating Indonesian Girls

Apr 4th, 2006, in Society, by

Dating Indonesian women may not be for everyone.

Indonesian women, particularly on the island of Java, are exceptionally beautiful. They tend towards the very feminine side, with lovely skin, are not too tall, and have knock-out smiles. There’s plenty of plus on that side of things.

If wer’e to be honest we have to recognise that many men are interested in a woman who will take care of him, do the housework without complaint, and take care of other matters similarly without much bother. Your average Indonesian girl often fits the bill in this respect, certainly more than your average western woman, the less said about them the better.

On the other hand going out with Indonesian women in a romantic way can have many mysterious pitfalls.

Some women here are clearly only interested in money. Some men are unbothered by this. Others of the female variety, can, once we get to know them very well, come across as practically insane, hysterically emotional, scheming, over-possessive, inclined to, usually fake, attempts at self-harm in order to get their way. As I said, not for the faint-hearted.

There are a few Indonesia dating websites although the area is not nearly as developed as that in nearby Phillipines or Thailand. To begin your online journey on the Indonesian dating scene our very own “Meet” section has many a lady eager for company.

The Australians play girly pansy games like Rugby

We’ll just send down cases of Bir Bintang and the Aussies will drink them all and get drunk

@PAK Ackmad. . very controversial you are eh?
I tell something, you bring your ukelele down to one of our pansy rugby games and see how the people respond after the consumption of dozen bir bintang. lol.

    @Swagman
These Indo women can take care of themselves without a BF helping them, everybody knows that…especially if they are beuttifull and live in Bali, the oldest occupation in the world

Btw, how do you feel? Is your lovely lady a good friend or just an easy squeeze during your trip?

Fair to say in an Australian way. ‘she has got me by the balls’ but not enough to make me crazy.

    @Farah

    and the waiting hahahaha

“i miss you” or “thinking of you” only that short

Terima Kasih 4 the good advice like always 🙂

    @Riniss
Of course if you are talking to somebody on the internet who maybe never been to SEA? and you profile says interested in ‘white’ and could of had something like ‘looking for marry’ lol. I can understand why afraid, some Indonesian girls are too honest especially on the internet. And no doubt its well known, especiall where I live and people I associate with…generally relationship to Asian girl is much differnet compared to Oz girl!

Don’t hold your breath Brian. Assmad is not known for its personal courage, fortitude, ethical behaviour or in fact any of the more noble aspects of the human condition. Not bad at defending crocodiles tho and is good with sheep.

  5. riniss says:

Lol brian.im straight!me n farah just want to meet each other n not expecting of love relation.haha.

Oh?is that make any western guys afraid if i put on my profile ‘white’ only?well, next time ill add white,javanesse,sundanesse.hehe.

So brian, where u n ur indo gf will go on the new year’s eve?

  6. Adam says:

    @ Riniss

Well, I fully intend to come to Indonesia to maybe find a companion for my future. Saya sekarang sekolah malam dan belajar bahasa Indonesia.

I was supposed to be there in August but could not because of my wife was found to have cancer which is confirmed as terminal.

So it may sound cruel and a bit early to contemplate, my future once she passes is I think with my friends in Indonesia.

May be we can meet some time? I don’t want to seem to forward but you sound like a good person and I for one am interested.

    Sampai nanti. 🙂

  7. Adam says:

Oh, btw, I spent 20 years in the Navy so I know my way around SEA, I am not going in blind. I have always loved SEA but it was only recently when I started talking on the internet, I found how much I missed it.

So, talk to you all later and I look forward to Achmad’s invasion. Can I buy tickets to it or will they be available on the day? 🙂

  8. Laurence says:

    Hi,

Last gf of 3 years was from Indonesia.

My advice is travel there and just be nice and you should meet someone special. Avoid bars etc, nice girls are everywhere. Try the internet to meet friends and then you could meet later on when you travel.

Just wish there were some nice Indonesian ladies in Australia as I’m stuck here now.

  9. Adam says:

    Yes, good advice thanks Laurence.

I have been taking night bahasa classes at TAFE and our guru, ibu Ana is from danau Toba in northern Sumatera. She is such a beautiful, friendly, funny, interesting, intelligent and peaceful person, if I found someone like her I would die a happy man I can tell you. 🙂

  10. Adam says:

I am actually also interested in talking to someone called Irmalily who is on the Meet@Indonesian Friends page here but of course I don’t really want to spend $100 to send emails. 🙁

  11. @ Adam,

She’s batak then. (As her about ‘B1’). Mate, you should pop on up for a visit, the ladies so inclined are always lamenting the lack of decent foreign men with good hearts.

    @ Oigal,

It’s goats, not sheep, though I wouldn’t mind sampling the local fare as we pillage in our subtle Javanese way during the upcoming invasion. Va Va Voom !

Personal courage (what sort of other courage is there ?). Oigal’s so brave he uses his real name on this forum. Defending Crocodiles, why, yes, Prabowo for President in 2014 and a Nobel Peace Prize.

  12. Adam says:

Thank you for your kind words Achmad, it is indeed comforting to receive a welcome from a learned and highly respected gentleman such as yourself.

Yes, ibu Ana is batak and a lovely lady.

Minggu yang lalu, saya sekarang memasak Bika Ambon untuk dia dan kelas bahasa. Itu hidangan asli di Medan dan ada enak sekali! 🙂

    🙂

  13. But just beware The Vortex: like the Sirens of old, the Vortex has ensnared many travellers like yourself.

We should really have an IM post called “The Vortex,” about Bules caught in Indonesia’s tractor beam.

  14. Farah says:

    @ Laurence
Since i am planning to stroll along the cities there for the whole year (to NZ if i am lucky enough, and still had money and time hehe..), i’ll might will catch you up somewhere.
And thanks for telling people to be nice to us ! 🙂

    @ Brian
You could join us if you are ..well somehow stranded in Jakarta during my time there (hehehe, wont tell your darling). Had some coffee and good conversation about bule dating indonesian girl.

    @ Adam
You sound a very determined person, good ! you should do sumatra all over, hehe, we had spicy food here (as spicy as the girls too i guess). Toba lake one of 5 biggest lake in the world, and had the largest island in a lake on an island called Samosir (dahhh.. hahah confuse how to say it !). And maybe to West Sumatra or Lampung for some surfing or diving. Its not as popular as Bali or Lombok of course, but its not “over polluted” with tourist too. Still had more interesting places here…..

Itu hidangan asli di Medan dan ada enak sekali!

Should be “… dan enak sekali!” good job on Indonesia language 🙂

  15. Adam says:

@ Achmad “The Vortex” hmmmm…. I think it may be the other way around my friend, you seem very determined to reach and conquer Australia for some reason, is this not the case? 🙂

@ Farah: Termia kasih, ya, saya belajar tetapi sedikit-sedikit lama-lama. 🙂 Good fun though and I am so looking forward to coming there and speaking with my orang Indonesia teman2, I have no one to speak with here. I have no intention of going to Bali or other bule tourist areas but very interested in travelling in Sumatera. 🙂

  16. bs says:

    @Adam the sailorman

Sumatra is beautiful, I travelled from Gunung Leuser to Padang.
The worst place in the trip was the island in lake Toba. Beware of agressive salespeople and overpriced hotels/transport (not meals and beer though).

  17. riniss says:

Yes bs is rite.sumatera is beautiful.i ever lived in aceh n north sumatera..(and ive been in south east aceh-national park gunung lauser too).n on last holiday i went to west sumatra (a week before the earthquake hits west sumatera) snorkling.n went to (hm passed by) national park kerinci seblat-jambi…very beautiful places.unfortunately,i had not enough times to go to mentawai island…(psst, kerinci girls/jambi province are pretty too!).

There are many beautiful places in indonesia.not only bali..

  18. Adam says:

    @BS dan Riniss

Yes, clearly I will have to do some careful planning to maximize my time, so much to see. That is OK, I will pick all your collective brains when I get closer to the date. The good news is, I get 2 months holidays each year so plenty of time to travel and also invite people back here for a holiday. 🙂

Terima kasih untuk bantu anda teman2. 🙂

  19. Laurence says:

Did a solo trip through Sumatra a few years ago had a good time but beware of so called guides. Pulled up at Gunung Leuser gate to pay fee and had three get in the car, had to push them out with my feet as they would not get out when asked.

But back to dating, I know a girl from Roti Island and plan to visit, anyone been there and is it cool for aussie/indo relationships?

  20. Farah says:

    @ Adam
I’ll PM you my traveling blog, hope that could help you out with more info about some province here in Sumatra.

  21. Ketut says:

Go bali most beautiful girls there and make good wife.

  22. Adam says:

    @ Farah:

Thank you Farah, that would be great.

    @ Ketut:

Yes something to consider but too many Australian’s visit Bali already, I want to stay away from Western areas. 🙂

  23. bs says:

    Yes and guard your wallet.
Go gunting in ‘normal’ environments and avoid tourist places and bars.
I met my wife at a university. You could also try doing charity work or if you’re a native English speaker, there are probably many schools that want to have you over for a couple of days.

Or go for a language course in Indonesia. I did that years ago an still have contact with the (great) teacher.

  24. brian astaga says:

    GERMAN BACKPACKERS! ! !

  25. bs says:

Dear God! Where? Quickly, hide …

  26. brian astaga says:

when the cats away……… .. ………. the mice will play

  27. bs says:

    Brian, man, are you ok?

  28. ET says:

Yes something to consider but too many Australian’s visit Bali already, I want to stay away from Western areas.

    Good idea.

  29. Farah says:

    @ Brian&bs

LOL… whats up with German BP? i saw more Canadian, Australian and Swiss BP…

  30. bs says:

Very good question. I honestly don’t know, but it seems they scared him.

Brian, were they travelling on foot or in little tanks?
