Dating Indonesian women may not be for everyone.
Indonesian women, particularly on the island of Java, are exceptionally beautiful. They tend towards the very feminine side, with lovely skin, are not too tall, and have knock-out smiles. There’s plenty of plus on that side of things.
If wer’e to be honest we have to recognise that many men are interested in a woman who will take care of him, do the housework without complaint, and take care of other matters similarly without much bother. Your average Indonesian girl often fits the bill in this respect, certainly more than your average western woman, the less said about them the better.
On the other hand going out with Indonesian women in a romantic way can have many mysterious pitfalls.
Some women here are clearly only interested in money. Some men are unbothered by this. Others of the female variety, can, once we get to know them very well, come across as practically insane, hysterically emotional, scheming, over-possessive, inclined to, usually fake, attempts at self-harm in order to get their way. As I said, not for the faint-hearted.
There are a few Indonesia dating websites although the area is not nearly as developed as that in nearby Phillipines or Thailand. To begin your online journey on the Indonesian dating scene our very own “Meet” section has many a lady eager for company.
Some ayam kampus do the prostitute because they think they should do it to pay the university fee.
So do I. I became a Kuta cowboy to pay for my university fee. I’m studying to become a gynecologist and my servicing the ladies is like killing two birds with one stone. Besides the financial rewards, plenty of hands-on didactic material.
Not to mention job satisfaction, of course. 😉
@ dewaratugedeanom
where is kuta cowboy? I never see that
@ kinch
As for Batak girls – they really DO talk too much. As in never stop for anything. It would be distasteful to get into a long enumeration of specific examples…. but suffice it to say that I finally drew the line with Bataks after knowing one who wouldn’t shut up even when she was sleeping.
I am javanese, but in hole my life. People always said that I am batak – in negative ways. Because I am rebellion and keras kepala. That time, I feel ashamed that many people said that I looks like batak. It is not help with the situation that many bataks work as “SUpir angkot” and drunks and really rude.
And then I met many friends in the college from Batak and having a really good friendship with them and then I works in Medan for 3 months. I met many honest people in there, and very kind and warm-hearted. I don’t have to wondering if I walk with them because they will said the truth about almost everything.
I must said that you are just having bad luck to have a relationship with a girl like that, hehehe …. Or you must be a jerk so that girl make a revenge for you. Great thanks for her
@ uwie
Maybe you missed them because they were busy chasing the cows.
@ dewa
I just wanna make sure that ballinese guy that I met before not kuta cowboys .. hehehehe … he is handsome and so nice … hehehe …
so if you said “a specific spot” and it is the correct spot that I met him, so I supposed to forget the future relationship with him … hehehehehe …
Uwie – you are persistent enough in what it is that you do to be a Batak… but perhaps you are actually better than one :D. Give you the benefit of the doubt :D.
@Dewarat – Only in Indonesia would a man be so proud to be a prostitute. It really amazes me that so many western woman don’t mind being short-changed by the so called “Kuta cowboys”. I guess its true that a lonely woman will pay for company because if what Indonesian women say about Indonesian men is true then it cannot possibly be the sex.
@Dewarat – Only in Indonesia would a man be so proud to be a prostitute.
Friend,
I don’t do the prostitute. I practise the ‘tantric healing’.
Okay friend?

Good uwie, you the only less people that understand that in indonesia being honest translated as being rude. Yes sumatra girls tend to say the truth no matter how bad it was. Have the freedom to speak their minds. Better than to be a liar.
Those rude batak guys, they might have big voice and sound sarcastic, but when they talk to their wife or children, they lower their voice and indeed nice.
I have batak teachers and friends that have big voice and very honest. When they talk to their wive and children, its very sweet. At least they say the truth when we wear something thats not looks good on us 😀 rather than pretending not see it and say it looks good.
Farah my Love: if I say something honest to you does that make me a Batak? 🙂
Farah my Love: if I say something honest to you does that make me a Batak? 🙂
Kinch dear, i think you don’t have the honesty in you. You can’t even answer your height sweety.
And you dislike batak people, because they eat dogs as you said. Do you want people in here think you eat dogs too ??
@kinch
I think at some certain point you are right. Batak people tend to talk too much. Do you know that in the marriage and death (as they are the biggest) ritual ceremony we take hours (some wedding starts around midday till 5 to 9 pm, and for the death it can reach up to several days) of ritual oracy – errr… whats the word?? That’s alot of talk. Just trust me, I’ve been being a Batak (not by choice) for the whole 32 years of my life time. The Bataks also love making speech. Even in small (regular) family gatherings, you have to be able to say something in front of everyone. After that, we always have time to talk/discuss/argue about everything under the sun (the small gathering isn’t that small, since you take the whole family to it. Then naturally you’ll make smaller group of age/sex/interests). So we got lotsa time and events to practise our language skill. Hehehe. Now you understand why many good lawyer are Batak eh 😉
@ Farah and uwie
Batak people are no more special than any other people. Some are nice, some are not so nice, there are good and bad Batak out there. But thank you, I’m touched that there are people (outside the ethnic group) like you who try to get rid of negatives stereotypes bout Batak people. I’m used to people think of me like kinch, asked if I eat dog, or why we become pickpocket etc. Or there are people who doubt that I’m Batak because I’m quiet (sometimes, well… rarely hehe), or I’m not dark enough, or having strong jaw bones, or talking loudly, and having no heavy accent. They will ask things like this, “Really??? Are you really Batak? Maybe you have mixed blood? Could be your great great great grandparents that you don’t know of?” They don’t seem satisfied that I’m Batak, since they think I don’t meet their common knowledge bout Batak people. That’s ok. Can’t ignore the history that my ancestors are known as fierce warrior hehehe.
Farah: you break my heart 🙁
Jen: ritual oratory. i don’t mind being the star of a batak funeral because i won’t have to listen… but the thought of a 9 hour wedding is enough to make me go back to sniffing hopelessly after Farah. I’m very keen on 10 minute wedding.
btw, i never mentioned pickpockets…. just metro mini drivers, lawyers, and bbq doggie…. pickpockets were someone else. i’d regard calling a people ‘a race of lawyers’ as a far greater ‘insult’ than ‘a race of pickpockets’ anyway 🙂
actually making jokes and holding stereotypes about ethnic groups is not the worst thing in the world. politically correct speech codes and laws against saying mean things and making jokes about other races/cultures removes a valuable societal safety valve. not that i deserve a nobel prize for being mean to bataks, of course :).
Farah: you break my heart 🙁
aaaawwwww… don’t know you really had something for me there kinch
really tired have to face asian guy – especially vietnamese who absolutely not have a crush on me …

really tired have to face asian guy – especially vietnamese who absolutely not have a crush on me …
awwwww…. did he broke your heart sweety ?? they prefer tall, slim, and fair skin, and very submissive most of the time. Why dont you try.. errhh LASVAGO maybe ??
Tony, where I can fine a caucasian cute in Jakarta? Kemang you say? not a prostitute area right?
be careful with the search, the outer look is deceive almost all the time. The cute one is not always the good one, the bad look some time nicer and appreciate and loyal to woman most.
@ alex
okey .. i will go there today …
@ Farah
yes … no i dont know the reason …
i just know he dont want me at all …
isn’t it there is a rule that the only women in 5 km areas is the most beautiful woman? But that kind of rule, actually not in his head at all … Grrr …
If he dont want me …. fine … I will not begging … I will search someone else …
@jen
lucky me … almost all batak that I met have a good personality …
@ Uwie
If he dont want me …. fine … I will not begging … I will search someone else …
Funny thing about guys is.. if we’re looking we will (most of the time) find “nobody” out there, but when we’re not really looking for someone, when the less were expecting to find someone for us, there will be bunch of them tailing us down.
Just relax, and don’t try too hard… you might will scare them (the good guys)… Open your eyes wide, open all the opportunity for new relationship, new friends wont hurt, who knows at the end it will turn up into something.
Just don’t push it to hard.
I am a US Citizen from birth, living in the US. I have been talking online to a girl from Indonesia. She is 26 years old, and her father is very wealthy. She and I have fallen in love, but her family refuses to allow her to come visit me. In fact, her father is attempting to arrange a marriage for her. Since he is wealthy, she believes that he can force her to marry, even though she doesn’t want to. She has since run away from home and is staying with friends throughout Indonesia, keeping on the move so her father doesn’t find her. Apparently, he has hired several men to search for her.
Anyway, her father has her passport, birth certificate, and all of her important documents. She found a way to get a new copy of her birth certificate, but she is having trouble getting a new passport. Apparently, even though she is 26, she cannot get a passport without her parent’s signature. Since her parents have disowned her, is there a way for her to get a passport without their signature?
Thank you,
Neil
NEVER trust indons womens,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they beg pleads and looks harmless. but they are only aftering money, They are looking for mens to supply with thier livings, thats why they looks for foreigners. As long you are a foreigner they will be true to you, not because of love but the love for money.
I am a furniture exporter in Indonesia and have been here for more than 6 yrears.. so you better trust me. You own country local girls are better. and more educate, you wont want a fool to raise your child.
Someone has made a permanent residence in this thread. Go get some fresh air.
Mas AAB! udah lama ga ketemu! Where have you been?
@ timdog
Do we know each other? Aren’t you one of the culture-less Ozzie, if I am not wrong. Anyway I will be busy in Beijing for the next few months organising for our olympic committee. Will drop in once in a while to neutralise some racist Bules’ comments.
Cheers.
ahhh… and you’re back with a vengance! 😉
ps. Ozzie? What a slanderous allegation! 100% Cornish-Irish Celtic and a proud history from the time of the Romans onwards of sucessfully resisting repeated foreign migratory, military and cultural invasion – unlike you lot mwahahahahahahaaaa! 😉
its so sad that though on zis world lots of people but why indonesien girls ve to do prostitutions for living as its ze most sins commiting a woman better put urself in godsfeet pray he ll surely see a gudway for all of them otherwise as we sow we reap
for foods anyone can do anything rather sell oneself or to be athief, but its negative thought.positively we do clean work,as a maid or any gud work exist on this world.and if we pray god will surely send someone for help, rather a man/woman.this man who he send may be bad but he ll change his mind properly respectively towards you as a brother or gud gentleman.as one say as we sow we reap & its true as due to our last birth ie gud/bad karma we ve to do but we r born a human therefor god ve given u one more chance to see in this birth u r nor commiting same mistake.so for my opinion i ll say please girls of indo be gud go to god path ie wy zer is always crisis on ur world zer god shows each time how that island being cast by him.hes so angry wiz ur bad behaviour and even myself i dont like ur country its so poluted with evilsminded people.prostitution is something so dirty its poluting our temples environments and ur soul too.may ur behaviour change and god bless ur country all my gudlucks for ur country in ze future.
indo girls….indo guys….bule guys…bule girls….good ..bad….
guys…if you’re looking for a partner in places like bars or clubs…of course you have to questions your partner’s motives…its all the same all over the world…no??…
Maybe because I live in a society where almost everybody is educated and honest I never find problems like you guys….
Not all indonesians are f*cked up people….just as same as not all foreigners are f*cked up.
Most people are prejudice or putting others in stereotypes because they had bad experiences in the past….which probably is their own fault in the first place….people, most of the time we have to make a choice…and if that choice is a bad one…don’t blame others or start bitchin’ about it….just deal with it yourself….
the more you bitch about other people or other races…the more of a f*cked up jerk you are,….be nice….and maybe others will be nice to you too….
…heck what do I know right,..?!..
my mom’s a foreigner…and my dad’s indo..and I’ve met a lot of good people out there ..indo or bule(foreigner)….and of course a lot of jerks too..but I don’t think I’ll put them in stereotypes anytime soon…
ok…
@ Neil

Hm…. i got my passport when i was 25. I went to imigration office by my self. Theres no such things as need parent signature unless if youre under 18 maybe…. I got that less than a week, and the money is only about 200.000 rupiahs..
If we can’t show the birth certificate we could show the highschool or university or any latest education certificate.
Thats as far as i know…. You need to ask this to her. Its just sound… little bit.. “wrong”.
Neil.. i wont say that all indonesian woman are bad. But honestly i’ve heard lots of story that girls using the family sad story to trap a bule.
But not all girls doing this. Some of us are good.
@ Don
After page 28 i think i don’t need to argue about this… sorry you meet bad indonesian girls and cause you broken heart (heehhehe).
@Farah
She says it is because she is half-American that she has troubles. When she was 21, her father chose that she would be an Indonesian citizen, but her mother still lives in the US. So, without her father’s signature to prove that she is an Indonesian citizen, she cannot get a passport. From my own research into US passports, the same is true. She cannot get a US passport without her mother filling out a lot of paperwork. Everything she says has always checked out. I believe she is telling the truth about everything. I appreciate your concern, though. I’m mostly just looking to see if anyone knows of a way around that restriction, but I’m guessing there isn’t going to be one.

Somewhat i agree with you world are now change. But let get this straight…
I’ve been in singapore i know what you’re talking about. But some part still left behind. Like in my place, my island. Some men does think they still live in a cave.
There’s RARE other guys from different asia country else than china.
Even when i work in international company, most of expatriate are from Canada, Australia, USA. From more than 1600 workers, only two are originally from chinese.
I think its also the same with any other girls in Indonesia, we see less of other asian man to be compared with westerners that we met here.
Even when i went to Malaysia, i had the same set of mind with the guys back then in sumatra, same culture once again, malay culture where man dominate almost everything. Malaysia is not small country.
I went to Thailand, where i even see man want to be a woman. And some even prettier than me!! Absolutely not a row model for future husband.
The only SE Asia country that might have different culture that i haven’t go to is Vietnam and Philippines. My next year destination. And honestly i do hope man over there wont be disappointing, and they do had equals set of mind toward woman and don’t have the FROG MENTALITY toward woman.
Yupp.. i am not set a monotone for all guys in asia continent. But almost all. Just most as i said, because i ‘ve never been to those countries yet.
We are all just typical “modern culture” asian woman i guess.
My question for you, when you said INDONESIAN WOMAN had frog mentality, where have you been ? have you been to Irian Jaya ? Have you ever been to Sumatra ? Which city ? Have you been all over java maybe ? Kalimantan ???
When you ask me not to generalize ASIAN MAN please don’t generalize indonesian woman.
You might find something different then those frogs woman that you ever met before. My comments are honest too, from my very point of view.
