On February 27th ten United Nations agencies pledged to engage in a renewed effort to eliminate female genital mutilation (FGM), or female circumcision, within a generation.
UN Deputy Secretary General Asha-Rose Migiro said:
If we can come together for a sustained push, female genital mutilation can vanish within a generation.

Prof Dr Chuzaimah T Yanggo, the head of the Youth and Women’s section of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), said of the United Nations:
What do they think they’re doing, it’s not their business. Religion cannot be interfered with by men.
He She said the Health Department had already agreed with the MUI that there was a right way, and several wrong ways, to carry out “khitan”. Fine tune your belief, lady. Holding huge progroms every few years? This statement is simply false. Riot at 1998 was more about sociocultural, economic gaps between the rich and the poor. If it is a kind of genocide, then why business buildings owned by Indonesians were also destructed. It might be provoked by some political or military groups but it was way far from ‘genocide’.
And we must admit 1965 was a sad part of history of our country, but to say ‘every few years’ and ‘progrom’ constitutes a verbal violence.

The Bengali genocide is something I’ve faced personally. During Partition of India in 1947, Pakistan and East Pakistan (today Bangladesh) became Muslim states, while India generally tolerant to the point of self destructiveness, remained secular. Millions of Bangladeshi Hindus were either slaughtered or driven out. The Government instituted an act called Enemy Property Act or Vested Property Act, by which it seized all the property of the Hindus. The Bangladeshi Hindus who had been richer than Muslims before, were reduced to penury overnight. The money they’d accumulated over a lifetime was snatched away from them. My family fled Bangladesh in 1992, when I was a baby after riots broke out.
Today, there’re millions of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants in India. India doesn’t do much to curb illegal immigration and the border between Bangladesh and India is pretty porous. In 2005, train services were started from Pakistan to India and vice verca. Pakistani Muslims arrive in India on those trains, only to disappear when their visas run out.
Bangladeshi illegal immigrants not only immigrate, they do their usual terrorism. A Bangladeshi terrorist outfit Huji (Harkat ul Jihad Islamiah) carried out a series of bombings in Indian cities- in Hyderabad and Jaipur killing more than a hundred innocent people. đ
