Muslims converting to Bahai.
Thirty-one Muslims in the Donggala area of Central Sulawesi have become apostates and converted to the Bahá’à religion, it is said, inviting the anger of their neighbours who are sticking firm to Islam, and the displeasure of the local bureaucracy.
The head of the Religious Affairs Office in Palolo sub-district said that the Bahai faith, led by one Mulahi, a former marriage counsellor, entered Banpers village in the 1990s, and Mulahi had persuaded 31 local people to convert.
But some Muslims in the village are not taking it lying down:
The homes of the Bahai followers in Banpers are often pelted with stones.
Nor is the local government, which held a meeting between concerned Muslims and the Bahaists in September, 2007, wherein the Bahai adherents were warned to have a think about which religion they wanted to belong to, either Islam, like before, or another religion which was recognised by the government, because Bahai is not. Another meeting will be held soon, to find out whether the Bahaists have had enough thinking time. antara
The Department of Religion (Depag) has also sent down an investigative team, says Muhammad Ramli in Palu, and they will have to decide whether Bahai is a sect within Islam. If so, then the converts, or their leaders, can likely be prosecuted for blasphemy. Depag also wants to find out how Bahai has been spread in the area, because if it is being preached at people who already hold a religion, then that may also constitute a crime, he said. antara
November 8th. Two out of the seven households that converted to Bahai are said to have returned to Islam, after the two heads of the households, Mulahi (70) and Muslimin (40), met with local leaders. Four others refused to change back to Islam, while the seventh did not turn up. antara
After looking at your photo Susan, I can see why you are so jealous of attractive, thin foreign women who are “taking” men away from you.
LOL. And you think Russian women stay the way they appear in those pictures? I was really quite thin most of my child-bearing years. And by the way, I married a foreigner while I was living in India. Maneck means ruby in Hindi.
The International Marriage Broker site you seem to think is so “sleazy” (correct spelling) is no different than Match.com or one of the Bahai International Marriage Brokers sites like two doves.com
Funny, http://www.twodoves.net sure looks different. No displaying of women’s bodies, and look, it’s free as opposed to 130 Euros annual membership and then more money for the sponsored tour if you actually want to meet the girl. And notice the contacts only go one way, American males to foreign females, not the other way around. Hmmm, I wonder why that is?
I don’t see any women’s bodies on the International Marriage Broker site and besides so what if there are? It is only because the ladies sent full body photos and wanted them listed with their information. Is that okay that the ladies willingly show their slim figures even though your huge barnbutt may be offended?
However, I can understand why you are offended at the sight of these slim bodies of foreign women especially when your barnbutt would take up a whole page of any website. Maybe YOU don’t like the sight of slim foreign ladies (jealous) but if they want to show their slim figures what right do you have to tell them what to do?
Twodoves marriage brokers is no different from Cherry Blossoms or other similar site regardless of what Bahai propaganda you may spew. Well, except for the fact that the Bahai Faith is a Cult that is, and not a bonafide religion.
What is it with you damned Bahais? You always think you are king shit and know better than anybody else so therefore you should be able to tell them what to do. Egos egos egos. For a phony cult that seems to think you are better than all the other world religions, you only come across like a bunch of Communists determined to control the World (or Bahai New World Order as you call it.)
I hope your golddigger Indian husband is enjoying his American citizenship and that his girlfriend has a small butt for his sake.
Frank,
You sound very upset for having been kept away (forcefully?) from russian dating sites???
Why don’t you go out your room and get to know some russian chics in the US soil, without going online? You know, the real-world, first-life.
Your rantings so far scared me. What are you?
What am I? I’m not sure what you mean by a question like that, but I am a male Christian male who happens to think that the U.S. government and the Bahais have no business getting involved in peoples’ lives.
I believe the The Bill of Rights and The U.S. Constitution.
I have been happily married for over 25 years to a beautiful Asian woman and I believe other American men have the right to be happy with a foreign, especially non-Bahai feminist, woman also without having to be stripsearched and fingerprinted BEFORE they are even allowed to say hi to them in the first place.
If IMBRA only applied to Bahais living in the USA who wanted to meet foreign Bahais overseas, you people would be screaming your heads off and foaming at the mouth.
You seem to “scare” easy. What are you?
You and everyone else should be scared of the Bahais. They make the Communists look like amatuers.
Like most Bahai cockroaches when exposed to the light, Susan has fled.
Hopefully she hasn’t brainwashed too many people here (which was why she was commanded to post here.)
I think most people are smart enough to recognize Bahai propaganda when they read it.
Not hardly. But we are here to discuss the persecution of a group of villagers who converted from Islam to the Baha’i Faith, not whether American men should have to reveal their criminal records to potential mail order brides.
“believe other American men have the right to be happy with a foreign, especially non-Bahai feminist”
I agree, Non Bahia feminists are every Americans’ god given right
Pak Frank Johnson and Bu Susan,
I invite both of you to consider Abangan (Javanese Islam).
Susan wants to change the subject so she can continue to brainwash you here (which is the mission of all Bahais) because their “religion” is God’s religion, NOT yours!
She thinks that “American men should have to reveal their criminal records to potential mail order brides.”
What she doesn’t tell you is that this (IMBRA) is a BAHAI LAW drafted by Layli Miller-Muro who is the founder of the Tahirih Justice Center Cell in the USA and SHE is the one that sneaked in this un-Constitutional and un-American law which prevents American men from saying hi to non-Bahai foreign women on the internet unless they are strip-searched and fingerprinted.
You wouldn’t believe the laws she and the Bahais have planned for Indonesian men. The Bahais firmly believe in their “New World Order” where THEY are in control of the “World” governments and the Bahai Faith is THE ONLY World religion which everybody must answer to. YOU will pay for this with your tax dollars while your Bahai masters sit on their fat asses (Susan’s is a perfect example) because they are the elite and you are their slaves.
The first thing to go will be dangdut music because the Bahais “don’t like” the way the women dance (“to please men”.)
Nonsense. You can say hi to whoever you want on the internet without revealing your criminal record so long as it isn’t through a marriage broker. Otherwise, these women have the right to know what they are getting into. As far as being strip-searched and finger printed, show us the passage from the law which actually says this if you are not completely full of bull.
If the law is really unconstitutional you should have no trouble whatsoever challenging it in court.
The Tahirih Justice Center is a legal firm. As much as it might serve your paranoid mindset it is not a ‘cell’.
And what is this nonsense about prohibiting music and dancing? Islam has strictures against this, not the Baha’i Faith.
As for trying to take over the world, Shoghi Effendi wrote:
Theirs is not the purpose, while endeavoring to conduct and perfect the administrative affairs of their Faith, to violate, under any circumstances, the provisions of their country’s constitution, much less to allow the machinery of their administration to supersede the government of their respective countries.
(The Universal House of Justice, 1995 Apr 27, Separation of Church and State)
Might things be different if Baha’is became the majority? I suppose only if they became a super majority in more than one country. But we would still have democratically elected institutions and I don’t know anything that allows for non-Baha’is to be disenfranchised.
You say you are a Christian. You might keep in mind this passage from the Bible:
10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
(King James Bible, Proverbs)
Susan, Is this true about dangdut!?
I hate to sound like a total ignoramous but until Frank mentioned Dangdut, I’d never heard of it before! I did some searching on the internet and found out that Islamiists are trying to get it banned as too erotic. But then they think a woman without a head scarf is too erotic. Baha’is dance and listen to music all the time. There are rock and rap artists who are Baha’is. Unless dangdut is more like strip dancing I can’t imagine why it would be a problem. In any case, there is no question of imposing Baha’i laws on non-Baha’is.
Frank is simply making stuff up.
Based on the comments posted so far. On one side, calm, cool and collected, and on the other, raging, insulting and paranoid, I would have to say that Susan is the leader on points at this stage in the competition.
I know who I would choose as a neighbour if forced to make a choice.
Peace
Religiously, I think you are both wrong, religion is about God, not about prophets.
Muhammad Kafi writes:
“I know who I would choose as a neighbour if forced to make a choice.”
More importantly, would you want your daughter to marry guys like this without even knowing their criminal records?
Paranoid men are often controlling and abusive when it comes to women.
“Religiously, I think you are both wrong, religion is about God, not about prophets.”
Oh, I agree, though I’m not sure how much we know about God apart from what the Prophets have revealed. But this thread is not really about one religion over another. It is about whether or not people should be have the freedom to change their religion as their conscience dictates.
“… The first thing to go will be dangdut music …”
You call it music?
“I know who I would choose as a neighbour if forced to make a choice.”
I wish all you guys were my neighbors….We could go out for STMJs and yell at each other about religion and politics.
It would be like loads of fun
@ Frank Johnson
You don’t seem to have alot of fans here. Here is why,
She thinks that “American men should have to reveal their criminal records to potential mail order brides.”
This statement is posed in IM (an Asian blog), most likely Asians would agree with Susan. Mail order bribes are usually from poorer backgrounds, and it would be in their best interest to protect their womenfolk from abuse and exploitation.
..SHE is the one that sneaked in this un-Constitutional and un-American law…
What is un-American may not be un-Indonesian here. Americans (especially the Anglo-Celtic-Saxon stocks everywhere, though not all) are foul mouthed, loud mouthed, arrogant and paranoia. This personality disorder may be norm in American society, but not in Indonesia.

I don’t know. Seems to me that Asians have their fair share of conspiracy theorists too, even if they aren’t as course, loud-mouthed and arrogant. ;-}

Yes, we do have loud mouth. We called the hokkiens. 🙂
Isn’t this illegal, anyway? I thought Pancasila permits only Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism.
I’m not sure what you mean by Pancasila, but if you are referring to the Five Principles of Indonesian government I would think prohibiting the Baha’i Faith would be a violation of all of them.
For instance:
Belief in the one and only God, (in Indonesian, Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa).
It is precisely because of our belief in the Oneness of God that Baha’is believe that God has revealed Himself to all people and will continue to through all eternity.
Just and civilized humanity, (in Indonesian, Kemanusiaan Yang Adil dan Beradab).
There can be no just and civilized humanity where consciences are coerced by prohibiting people from practicing their religion, whatever it may be.
The unity of Indonesia, (in Indonesian, Persatuan Indonesia).
True unity admits diversity. Nothing is more divisive than denying any group their basic civil rights.
Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations amongst representatives, and (in Indonesian, Kerakyatan Yang Dipimpin oleh Hikmat Kebijaksanaan, Dalam Permusyawaratan Perwakilan, dan)
Baha’is too embrace the principle of consultation. When certain voices are silenced or not given representation then consultation becomes a fallacy.
Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia (in Indonesian, Keadilan Sosial bagi seluruh Rakyat Indonesia)
The ‘whole of the people of Indonesia’ must include Baha’is as well or there is no social justice.
As usual Susan is trying to propagandize and hard sell her Bahai Cult. They all talk of a one world religion (Bahaism) and one world government (controlled by Bahais) with doves flying around and mankind frolicking in the meadow. DON’T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND!
Red what others have to say including an ex-Bahai.
http://www.bahai-faith.com/ex-Bahai-9.html
http://www.adam.com.au/bstett/ReligBahais23.htm
“Bahai World Rule
Bahaism, an offshoot of the Shiite division of Islam, hopes to be the one faith and one government for all humankind by the year 2,000.
Consider also world peace within 10 (!) years followed by Bahai World Government. It will be a world Federal system backed by an international army enforcing the decisions of the Universal House of Justice! A world tribunal will debate all disagreements between nations and between religions and will hand down compulsory verdicts which will always agree with Baha’ism. A one party, worldwide, totalitarian superstate!
Bahais at present tend to be peaceful members of society. But history shows that large-scale totalitarian rulerships become intolerant of dissent and tend to crush, by large scale murder if necessary, all perceived opposition. The Bahai system would, in addition, be officially viewed as prepared and ordained by God. To disagree with the God-ordained perfect order would surely be viewed as either insane or criminal as mad or bad.
What Bahais are currently suffering in Iran might be minor compared to what others will suffer if the Bahai superstate eventuates.”

Frank back now.
It is ironic that for such a “Big Bahai Brother” New World Order the Bahais are trying to achieve, that their fascist cult is based on the ravings of a delusional Iranian midget – Buliauahahualiuah.
These fanatics make the Nazi Party look like a benevolent organization. Don’t believe ANYTHING they say or claim. They only want money and power and the rest of the world to support and serve them.
There are many great religions in the world including Indonesia – Bahaism isn’t one of them.
Also, Susan neglects to mention that not only do Bahais NOT believe there is a Heaven or Hell but they also believe the image of God as a man is sexist and the proper image of God is that of an Iranian woman (Bahai feminist no doubt.)
The day you start discriminating people based on their religion, then you can safely conclude that you are part of a sect. Religion is about uniting people and spreading love (even to your ennemies).
