Taoists are clamouring to have their religion recognised by the government.
In early March Taosu Agung Kusumo, a leader of Tao/Taoisme Indonesia (Majelis Tao Indonesia), paid a visit to leaders of the Partai Damai Sejahtera (PDS), a Christian party whose main platform is freedom of religion, to ask the PDS for assistance in having Taoism recognised by the state.
Taosu Agung Kusumo
Taosu Agung said at the moment Taoists in Indonesia, of whom he claimed there were millions, called themselves Buddhists for official purposes, like on their KTP/identity cards, but this was no good:
Buddhism and Taoism are fundamentally different.
Carol Daniel Kadang of the PDS agreed to help the Taoists, because until now they had been disenfranchised, with no-one to represent them, and particularly because there were about 5 million Taoist voters in the country.
PDS election banner on theme of freedom of religion.
It seems the Taoists approached most parties at the DPR but only received a response from the PDS. okezone
Brothers, come back to the fold of Islaam.
Don’t they have something “menjejak bumi”, touches the heart, more human? Not just stories about divine revelations, etc???

Sheikh Cuk has a point. Only FPI or similar islamic thugs are able to control the bules. Without FPI, our children are in danger. You will find that the average Indonesians don’t like FPI, but feel they are needed to keep bules in lines. Without FPI, Indonesia will be another Thailand, the Phillipines, Loas or Cambodia.
@ ET
There is a reason why pimps approach bules. Maybe you are one in a thousand bules. Many will take up the offer.

Of course a fly always bound either to shit or garbage
You could have spared yourself the trouble to delete. I know all too well what crap this wacko sicko has been spewing again. Over time I have developed a 6th sense for smelling the vomit coming from his brainwashed mind or what’s left of it.
Don’t worry, I’m immune.
Aside you said Don’t worry, I’m immune
but my 9th sense detect anger in your tone? I tell you that what I said is no other intention except we care about you because we prefer to see you outside the jail and exchange view about morality and humanity. We also would like to learn your expertise how to save our kid from the kid predator. Because we believe that the best tip to learn how to avoid pickpocket from the pickpocket himself.
I think we have to deal with it once and for all, otherwise it will continue to haunt us ad eternum.
Is this kind democracy and free speech the bule want to promote? Every brown man should smile and say Helllo Misteer …Hello Misteer ….Hello Misteer? Wake-up Misteer take mirror and see Yourself, if you can enjoy having fun by linking this site to other website which ridicule a faith followed by billion people …So what is wrong if I also would like to participate to give you cheer and joy?
Guys, I give credit where it is due. I am not here to please anyone. If Sheikh Cuk, or anyone for that matter, has a point (well, most of the time he don’t) then he has my support.
Pedophilia and homosexuality (i do not have a problem with the latter) are diseases of the Bules and Middle Easterns. Middle Easterns justified it with islam. Not that Asians are completely immune from it, but it is in the minority. If a local pimp approached the like of Dawud Farquhar or Barry Prima, it would be a done deal. Bules can escape to their homeland and justice may not be served. The FPI thugs are locals and they are under the watchful eyes of the state security apparatus. Loud mouthed as they may, but they can be shaped. They will be no escape if they make the wrong move, just like Sheikh Pujiono.
So far the FPI have only managed to harass fellow law-abiding, peace-seeking Pancasilaist Indonesians (Ahmadiyah, Monas incident).
Exactly, I never heard a case of FPI or similar group going after bules for whatever reason, except here (Islam stuff), they’re much more interested in small time traders selling liquor by the side of the road, and harassing bules would really get them into trouble.
@Lairedion and Patung
well, after the invasion of Afghanistan FPI said they were going to “sweep” Jakarta hotels for Americans and “ask them kindly to leave.” A friend of mine once was approached by FPI thugs at Cengkareng, who then asked him if he were “Israeli,” because they wanted to find “all the Israelis” and make them go back home.
What’s interesting is that they never did the former and probably knew ahead of time that no Israelis go to Indonesia because they can’t get visas.
Seems just a little performative to me, and not much else. Which makes me wonder…just how radical are these radical Muslims in FPI? Rumor has it the majority are just Pemuda Pancasila with new clothes and laughable attempts at beard growth.
Oh, and as for the thread topic…I’m all for it. I like the fact that Indonesia is broadening the number of accepted religions.
wow, still need FPI to solve these issues right? what happen to God the Great? lost His great God-like power? why don’t Thy power solve everything, crowned whoever the best religion is and eliminate the others with lightning n fire or something? or have it occur to you that God want us to have choices, which probably that’s why He gives us brain to use and not just based our lives on thousands years old book. have it occurs to u that FPI is mocking God as if saying ‘if You can’t do it, we will!’ we don’t need to defend God, Thy power is already Bigger than all of us combined. and for other practical purposes, i think police can do a lot better, a lot smarter job than FPI…
okay i hardly think that this will make a difference but if anyones reading this…
the stuff that “Diego” said about “the reason why there are wars today” is totally distorted. I mean yea maybe there is a little truth in the fact that wars often have something to do with religion, but its not religion that start wars! People start wars. War is a choice. And if your trying to get to the root of it.. it is in fact hate, or some other opposite of peace.
And i believe that hateful things have been said in some of your comments. Its things like that, little insults, stereotypes, “jokes”, etc. that seperate us today. If you think your being funny? PLEASE, open your eyes. look around.
With all that WE as humans have gotten ourselves into, there is no time to be ignorant. We’re screwin everything up and still there are people debating on our differences.
If you want to debate over something it should be global warming, or deforrestation, or land fills, or hunger, or poverty, or the natural resources that we’re running out of, or the chemicals that manufacturers are leaving for your kids to be exposed to, or the genocide in darfur, the child soldiers in uganda, AIDS, all these things exponentially exceed the importance of our differences.
Our differences in religion, race, culture, color, beliefs, age, sex, politics, nationality, language, birthplace, traditions, economics, weight, skin, style, thoughts, feelings, hairstyle, size, lifestyle, height, preference, orientation, wealth…
these things make us who we are and should be embraced not abused.
And to those who might disagree with me, i dont feel hate towards you. You simply see things differently, as we all do, we all wear different paradigms.
But my point is, through all our differences there are things that unite us. Our planet, our sun, this universe, our futures, dreams, children, thought, air, water, mountains, hearts, minds, and differences. All these we possess and or share.
We also have reason and conscience, so please use them when you speak.

Oh ya,
I learned that judaism is a religion (of the jews), only when I was in university. The first time I heard the word that comes close to judaism is when I was in elementary school (or junior)…. Judas Priest. At that time I thought judaism is somekind of dark-gothic cult, whose followers are like that: listen to heavy metal, have piercings, tattoo all over their, you know that stuff.
