Dating Indonesian Girls

Apr 4th, 2006, in Society, by

Dating Indonesian women may not be for everyone.

Indonesian women, particularly on the island of Java, are exceptionally beautiful. They tend towards the very feminine side, with lovely skin, are not too tall, and have knock-out smiles. There’s plenty of plus on that side of things.

If wer’e to be honest we have to recognise that many men are interested in a woman who will take care of him, do the housework without complaint, and take care of other matters similarly without much bother. Your average Indonesian girl often fits the bill in this respect, certainly more than your average western woman, the less said about them the better.

On the other hand going out with Indonesian women in a romantic way can have many mysterious pitfalls.

Some women here are clearly only interested in money. Some men are unbothered by this. Others of the female variety, can, once we get to know them very well, come across as practically insane, hysterically emotional, scheming, over-possessive, inclined to, usually fake, attempts at self-harm in order to get their way. As I said, not for the faint-hearted.

There are a few Indonesia dating websites although the area is not nearly as developed as that in nearby Phillipines or Thailand. To begin your online journey on the Indonesian dating scene our very own “Meet” section has many a lady eager for company.

Re Rossa – good for you that you are able to be in Singapore, your all city nieghbor. I have gotten to know some I’sians that lived, worked, and/or studied there and for sure thay all got more of a view of realities outside of I’sia, and now you say you are punctual. Even Singpore though is a more pampered coutry compared to many. Good and easy transport, taxi fares are low compared to many places – maybe something like 10 times less than Tokyo.

Good that you and your I’sian girl friends are able to think out-of-the-box esp as you say about “guy rules”. Yahoo and many websites have good info about dating – while this is somewhat a westward view – most of what on these many pages is universal stuff:

    http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/singles/relationships/
    http://www.redbookmag.com/archive/love-sex/advice/

A lot of this is worth some reading (or some skip skimming through), bunches of info on stuff many of us do not talk about in person or even on these pages here, along with many reader personal comments.

I personally am already skipping many things written on these pages where it gets into tossing stones around of any type of “us & them”. I have got better things to do than see stone tossing, that crap is on TV everyday and I skip that too. The site shows very clear what it’s about ‘dating-indonesian-girls’ and I personally am going to keep on that track and the rest is filtered out.

Singapore is a fun place in many ways though and has become very cosmopolitan, many mixed relationships thesedays, and more and more people do not give these mixed couples a second glance. That makes things easier of not having old social stigma’s in your face everyday. Essentially a lot more freedom to do what you want to do and not having some gaggle of geese doing the gobble gobble nonsense. The gobble almost always is something they do not really know about and are only trying to artificially make themselves look good by putting someone else down.

Rossa – all the best to you while in Singapore ! Hopefully you can find many friends other than from I’sia and I hope they can recognize and understand you for what your are, what you have going on in your thoughts, and for your exotic self.

The fact that both Australia and the USA make world cups and soccer nations like Indonesia don’t is a tribute to our effort and athletism.

More accurately its a tribute to the fact that said countries have the luxury and wealth to provide decent playing fields and decent diets to their talented ones, unlike indonesians who have to play on downhill slopes of wannabe grass riddled with pot holes and subsist on indomie. Having said that the javanese lack of regard for any kind of formal structure or fair play and a tendency to run amok over pitch rights, dodgy referee decisions, clashing kits etc doesnt help things. Have you ever played soccer in Indonesia?
There is hope for the future, with enough interracial marriages and the emerging physical giants from the noveau rich classes, who knows one day Indonesia might make a decent soccer nation and del piero need no longer ask `kapan indonesia ikut piala dunia?
I hope I live to see the day!

  5. Purba Negoro says:

    Barry,
fair play is an invention of the British Puritan middle class to spoil the fun of the poor and wealthy alike.

It was intended to divert attention from sport as means of gambling.Like Boxing- originally a blood sport for wealthy to bet on their champion poor person out beating the others’- and promoter making a nice return on the blue collar gamblers- all of which distracted from church and godly pursuits and ‘better’ ways for the poor to spend their money.

Exactly what the Indonesian soccer racket is all about- what you expect from something sponsored by Chinese if not about dirty money (Gudang GAram, Extra Joss, etc)?

I guess you miss replied one of my opinion in another topic.
As this section is about dating indonesian girls.
Dating, dating, dating, and dating. πŸ™‚

    @ sarah
If theres is a will theres a way.
I have a friend that 36 and get scholarship for her master in UK.
And I just wonder 36, single and have great career still pursuing higher education.
    Great..

Anyway this section is about dating indonesian girls…..! lol

  7. Farah says:

    @shawty
    Yes i believe so too.
Oh.. i am the kind of person who will learn for the rest of my life, theres no “too late” for me.. hehe

But still i would envy anyone who had chance to learn abroad. To study in singapore/to apply for PR or for student permit still you have to had bank account to show you able to stay there, and also even if you had a scholarship you still have to pay millions rupiahs for the tuition fee.

Its just something i could only dream on now……

Oh sure about the date !
Yesterday i went to a yahoo chat room, jakarta globat chat. Look up for new friends. End up with this guy nickname “anton…” indonesian. Then i told him i am about to go to jakarta. And he said why dont we meet. I said sure. And he said, after we had the lunch we could do the extra things. And i just can’t believe my eyes. Said whats extra things ? he said you know the plus..plus ? and ask which hotel i stay (??!!!) eugghhh !
If he is western guy i wont feel weird, wont feel (sick) of this guy. Because might be a western man casual things to ask for sex from the girl they met online (not all, i k now..i know) but this is indonesian guy…

I dont know theres so many things change since the last time i went to a chat room ! its not even dating chat room !!!

  8. kinch says:

@ Farah: good to know you won’t feel ill when I say that! πŸ˜€

But you’re safe for now – I can’t get out of Bkk even if i want to.

  9. shawty says:

This is dating indonesian thread hehe lol sorry all !

Yah thats why i hate Jakarta Guyssssssss..today πŸ™‚ hehe
    sleazy..
    ugly..
    some just idiot ..upsss
    and poor..
better with expat same sleazy just different..lol
    haha

  10. kinch says:

@ Shawty: Right. I revel in my difference.

Thai Bargirl English contains the immortal phrase (commonly used as an unbeatable rejoinder when one points out some inconsistency in statements) ‘Same same but different’ – I have difficulty imagining Socrates conducting successful dialogues with pole dancers in Soi Cowboy.

It’s interesting though that we would all mainly prefer to be disgusted by foreigners than disgusted by our own kinds. Isn’t that right, Farah? πŸ™‚

  11. Farah says:

    @ Kinch
haha ! they already open the airport i watch the news this morning !

kinch i didn’t hate or feel disguise all local guys. My father was a good man, an indonesian, and very proud of his tradition and culture… well hes kind of modern tho.. he introduce and teach his children English πŸ™‚

i only feel disguise to jerk.. local jerk or western jerk.

    after thinking…

i might will go out late night and.. because you told me what year you go to highschool.. would that be okay for you ? hehehe

    @ shawty
… and i have to compete with other student ex java university like UGM, UI, or ITB ?
and they only look for 1 person per year ?

hehe anyway…btw i just heard about the chevening thanks for the info, i might will try !

  12. Udin says:

    All,

Please do not come or play in kota indah bars, many HIV infected there!!!

    care with u

    Regards

  13. kinch says:

@ Farah: I’ve known a few UGM and UI graduates, and believe me, you have nothing to fear from them.

Wrongggg… airport still closed. Nobody wants to take responsibility for starting the inevitable litle civil war Thailand will have to have sooner or later.

Nope… I think you should be a good girl and stay at home and do sudoku or something :). The thought of u running around town late at night is bad for old ppl’s blood pressure.

  14. Farah says:

    @ kinch
..hehe i know about that too.. but shouldn’t underestimate some of them either….

hehe yeah, my mistake, just saw cnn after lunch.. they throw granade ! wow.. hoping this will end in peace …

I’ve been good girl all the time, just theres sometimes i need to go out and see what happened outside my “village” or “turun gunung” from my sacred jungle to see another kin of jungle.
Hehehe… i will be good in bad way.. errhh… be bad in good way ??
You might should warn your expat friends in jakarta cause i am coming wether they ready or not….. heheehehe…

Just have some fun before heading back to my jungle, monkeys fella, and work at oil rigs…..

  15. shawty says:

    @sarah

    its not true πŸ™‚
they recruit more than 10 every year..dunno the exactly number..
    but more than 10..
and i know one girl just graduated from…bla bla univ..
not even famous private univ in Indonesia..

so hows the sleazy guys story goin lol

  16. Farah says:

    @shawty
i browse google and find the site, and said only 1..hmmm……

The sleezy indonesian guy at chat room? hehe ofcourse i put “ignore” on him.

Better see my old friend and hang out at cafe or mall… meeting people, especially indonesian at internet more like “beli kucing dalam karung”.. beside that they were every where so better “check” them directly rather through a chat room.. hehe…

Two days ago went to the chat room again, just want to know the difference, a guy from dutch, good english, not so bad looking.. insist on web cam. And i said okay as long as he wont do crazy stuff. And he said so to me, he doesn’t like cam girl. And hi ask why you ask mine then ? he said just to make sure you didn’t do “surgery” over your pictures.. hehe i know what he meant.. so many girls photoshop their pics, no body mistake. So we chat and use webcam for a while, not bad…

I guess i am lucky with the dutch guy πŸ˜‰ i know theres so many pervert… local or western.. hehe…..

(i am okay with girls dating with guys from internet, my friends meet at internet and they got married, hey this is the millennium !)

  17. kinch says:

@ Farah: Just admit it…. you’re working on lining up some entertainment in Jkt πŸ˜€

Certainly what I’d be doing in your place.

  18. Farah says:

    @ kinch
Hehehehe.. sure i’ll make sure i’m going to have fun in jakarta.. and maybe to bandung too. 10 days in jakarta just bit too much.. so little bit of bandung wold be nice.
I deserve it….. work like a workcoholic for months in jungle ! a little bit fun for a while good for me..hehe i already invite you tho.. but you hiding somewhere in bangkok hehehe……

  19. kinch says:

@ Farah: And how I gonna find you if I go hunting in Jkt? πŸ™‚

  20. Farah says:

    @ kinch
…..you’re not.. because you’re in bangkok somewhere ! ill be back to my jungle and only out in April to go to phuket ! for hunting six pack tanned skin cute surfers hahaha !

Got cheap flight ticket from air asia… and i am still in the mood for backpacking adventure!

  21. kinch says:

    @Farah:

Well that’s your fault for not coming to lovely Bkk πŸ™‚ Should backpack your ass up here too.

  22. Farah says:

    @ kinch
not this year sweety…. not this year….

This year belong to my lovely indonesia, bali and jakarta is my destination for this year..

i told you next year at april 2009 near songkhran festival.. must be great.

  23. kinch says:

    @ Farah:

oops.. there’s that age difference again… i #$%@ing hate songkhran! have to hide indoors for 4 or 5 days with occasional trip to malls. no good lah.

  24. Farah says:

    @ kinch
Its not that bad to have fun once a year.. those thai’s really know how to have a party !

Just two days in town then headed to phi phi just to relax doing beach activity , relax, trekking.. for like 10 days and headed back to my jungle..

  25. kinch says:

    @ Farah:

Yep… you’re right about the Thais. They don’t know jack #@#( about much else, but they *do* know how to party themselves stupid(er).

  26. Farah says:

    @ kinch
…because they thought thats made tourist attracted to thailand.. most of those tourist just want to party, drunk
I dont think they really have that “party attitude” on their culture… but yeah.. thats based on what i see there.

  27. kinch says:

@ Farah: Trust me, Hi-So Bangkok Thai-Chinese + most Thais in general, including the brown ones, are mad party animals.

  28. Farah says:

    @ kinch
Hmmmmm….. don’t be offended okay… i think Australian is the one who knows how to throw a wild party…
See lots in Bali, and some in Phuket beach or even in quiet Chiang Mai… and also people from netherland almost as wild as ozzies…..but yeah…. it might be because they’re in the “vacation mood” and feels so relax πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  29. kinch says:

    @ Farah:

Not offended lah… just I don’t have much time for or interest in partying bule backpackers.

But good luck hunting them πŸ˜€

  30. Farah says:

    @kinch
… same to me.. i’m just observing, i’m not even drink alcohol… not my kin of groupies.

so its more to HAUNTING then rather than HUNTING heheh…

Those guys (six pack tanned sexy surfer guys) just good to look at, some of them not even know what they’re talking about (rolling my eyes) especially after their 9th beer.. (not sure if they talk in english or in french !) so… apa the heck !

they’re just good to be laugh on πŸ˜‰ ….not really my future husband type….
