Obama Barack has been democratically elected President of the US.
Quite an about face for the best democracy money can buy, in view of the Bush presidential se-lection.
But of course, corruption, collusion and nepotism is the sole monopoly of the Third World – or so the deluded denizens of the West repeat to themselves as they hug their knees, rocking back and forth – reminding themselves of how they uphold human rights equally across the board, entirely devoid of double-standards and totally oblivious to race, creed or religion.
Barrak Hussein Obama II was born to a white American Ann Dunham and Kenyan Barrak Hussein Obama Snr, in Nyang’oma Kogelo now in Kenya.

Ann Dunham married in 1967 Lolo Soetoro, a Javanese, whose own father, in 1946 was killed along with his eldest brother were killed, after which the Dutch army burned down the family’s home. Soetoro fled with his mother into the countryside to survive. Incidentally yet more proof of Dutch war crimes – delibrate destruction of civilian property outside the scope of battle.
Pak Lolo Soetoro was an army geologist then later a government relations consultant for Mobil Oil. Obama describes Soetoro as well-mannered, even-tempered, and easy with people.

From age 6 to 10, Obama lived in Jakarta. Age six, Obama attended the Catholic Primary St Francis di Assisi. Much was made of the lie he was educated in a Madrassa – or more accurately a pesantren – this of course was totally untrue. Obama Jnr later attended Model Primary School, Menteng and was registered as a Muslim – as his father was Muslim.
In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell my mother that I made faces during Koranic studies. My mother wasn’t overly concerned. ‘Be respectful,’ she’d say. In the Catholic school, when it came time to pray, I would close my eyes, then peek around the room. Nothing happened. No angels descended. Just a parched old nun and 30 brown children, muttering words.
One of “Berry’s” childhood friends was Adi who often visited “Berry’s” 16 Jalan Haji Ramli house. Speaking volumes of Dutch “development” at the time the road was of this established middle-class neighbourhood was a dirt lane where Obama used to wile away the hours kicking a soccer ball.
Adi recalled Obama and his friends wore plastic bags over their shoes to walk through the muddy street during the rainy seasons.
Neighborhood Muslims worshiped in a nearby house, which has since been replaced by a larger mosque. Sometimes, when the muezzin sounded the call to prayer, Lolo and Barry would walk to the makeshift mosque together, Adi said.
His mother often went to the church, but Barry was Muslim. He went to the mosque,” Adi said. “I remember him wearing a sarong.”
Obama spent most his spare time hanging out with Adi and other friends at the home of Yunaldi Askiar, a classmate. They used to play a kind of fencing game using sticks, kick a ball up and down the narrow dirt lanes or go swimming in the river behind the school, said Askiar, 42, a car mechanic.
Obama was taller and better dressed than most kids in classes where shoes and socks were still luxuries, so he stood out from the start. As an African American, and the only foreigner, he suffered racial taunts and teasing but never turned to violence.
“At first, everybody felt it was weird to have him here,” Israella Dharmawan, his first grade teacher said. “But also they were curious about him, so wherever he went, the kids were following him.”
His friends enjoyed playing tricks on Berry: Harmon ASki recalled,
“Sometimes we’d say, ‘Barry, do you want a chocolate?’ And we’d give him a chocolate. The next day we’d give him a chocolate again. The third time we’d give him terasi (fermented shrimp paste) wrapped up like chocolate. Obama didn’t get mad. He would laugh it off.”
Ann Soetoro moved to Yogyakarta, while Obama Jnr studied in Jakarta. She was inspired by Jogja village industries, which became the basis of her 1992 doctoral dissertation.
“She loved living in Java,” said Dr. Dewey, who recalled accompanying Ms. Soetoro to a metalworking village. “People said: ‘Hi! How are you?’ She said: ‘How’s your wife? Did your daughter have the baby?’ They were friends. Then she’d whip out her notebook and she’d say: ‘How many of you have electricity? Are you having trouble getting iron?’ ”
Dunham-Soetoro became a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development on setting up a village credit program, then a Ford Foundation program officer in Jakarta specializing in women’s work. Later, she was a consultant in Pakistan, then joined Indonesia’s oldest bank to work on what is described as the world’s largest sustainable microfinance program, creating services like credit and savings for the poor.

In his tellingly-titled Memoir, Dreams from My Father, Obama describes his Indonesian interlude as “one long adventure, the bounty of a young boy’s life”. But he also recalls being troubled by the poverty around him: “the empty look on the faces of farmers the year the rains never came,” and the desperation of the disabled beggars who came to the family’s door.
“The world was violent, I was learning, unpredictable and often cruel,” he writes. Obama and his mother thus we were very well acquainted with the harsh realities of indigenous Indonesians.
Fermina Katarina Sinaga, recalled yojhng Obama in her class: in the common task of class to write an essay titled “My dream: What I want to be in the future.” Obama “wrote ‘I want to be a president,’ ” she said. During a later writing assignment on family, he wrote, “My father is my idol.
The Indonesian connection for Obama and all that shaped him proving once again all things Javanese and indigenous Indonesian the bedrock for the towering monuments built on the foundations of a great civilisation.

Secondly, it may have passed in the house. But you really must be slow to think that 3/4 of them nazis in the House arent bought and paid for buy special interest groups. Polls show right now that 70-80% of US citizens do NOT want Obamacare. And if it was so justified and all that like they are touting it around as. Answer me why they need 16,000+ IRS agents to enforce said Obamacare?? When the hell did the IRS have something to do with healthcare?!

I hate to get rational with the irrational, but polls actually show 57% of americans did not like the health care bill before it was passed, but of that 57%, around 15% didn’t like it because they didn’t think it was liberal/left-wing enough. that means around 40-43% didn’t like it because it was “too liberal.”
well, doggone we’ve got ourselves a real shocker here! it seems that the percentage of americans that think “obamacare” is too left-wing is, well, a slightly smaller percentage of the population than voted for McCain in 2008. OH MAH GAWD!
Btw Oigal…what do you think are the odds our buddy here knows this is an Indonesia-focused blog?

Hey Ody, probably not high.
I am not really that into USA domestic squabbles,other than for comic relief and read only snippets in the news from time to time. Contrary to their belief most of the world couldn’t care less about who is President, as OB as demonstrated little changes.
On the domestic side, I could understand that some would be upset by the potential rise in taxes for compulsary health care, how that morphs into “Chicken Little, the sky is falling hysteria” is beyond me. Not really so radical, its a diluted copy of health care used by the majority of western nations (and Indonesia) for that matter.
It would seem that ensuring access to basic medical care for every person would be fairly core role of the government in any civilised nation. Not sure how that equates to Nazi’s, did I miss the gas ovens or mass murders.
In fact, as far as radicial changes goes, Ol Obama must be a bitter disappointment to left, pretty much a watered down Bill Clinton without the charisma.

Actually Obama’s been more successful in his first 2 years than Clinton was. Clinton was completely ineffectual until he lost congress. We’ll see if Obama is cut from the same cloth, but I think in all likelihood we’ll think of Obama as a more strategic Clinton without the personal issues, but who isn’t as adept at political improvisation (at which Clinton was a genius).
But it’s good to remember that Clinton also brought out the nutball hysteria on the right. Pretty amazing that they simply can’t tolerate a center-left president who follows 75% of the same policies as a given center-right president. Like I said, not rational.

The left is just as guilty as the right in projecting unreasonable fantasies onto a guy who’s pretty middle-of-the-road, politically speaking. Less destructive and worrisome fantasies, but fantasies nonetheless.

Democracy? US has not been a democracy for more than a 100 years now. There’s no Left or Right, there’s only puppets that create the illusion of two opposing parties, while in reality they are on the same team. There has not been a truly elected by the people President for at least that long. It’s all theater, a play. And your voting makes little difference, as they (the behind-the-scenes wizards) will make it look like anything they need to create the effect they want.

And yes, the KKK is still around, though there’s not much of it left. There are, however, plenty of militias and other crazies. The popular and legitimate election of a black democrat seems to have sent them all in a tizzy.

This post just won’t quit, there’s been a flurry of links and traffic to it in the last few days, the source is this I think – http://www.westernjournalism.com/?p=7118 and then a bunch of other blogs have picked it up from there and run with it.
An Indonesian online newspaper, Indonesia Matters, had stated directly after the 2008 presidential election that Obama had been born in Kenya. In 2009 the article was scrubbed from the internet, although it has reappeared along with a Facebook page with a link to it which refers to Obama as “Barry Soetoro.”
Of course Purba admitted his mistake about the Kenya thing on the first page, and ‘scrubbed from the internet’, that rumour started when the site went down for about 10 hours MONTHS ago, somebody posted a comment on a blog “see!!! they’ve pulled the page/site, it’s a conspiracy!!!”….

Such a man can better be trusted to do nothing damaging to our strength or economy, do nothing to endanger our Constitutionally protected freedoms or promote polices that make us vulnerable to our enemies.
Anyone who has divided loyalties is a danger to this country and to those principles.
This president is demonstrating his divided loyalties through the polices and laws that he is implementing. As a result, our strength and defenses are being weakened, making us vulnerable to our enemies, our economy is being devastated and our liberties are being ravaged. “Csars” have been integrated into this administration, and to what purpose? To prepare us to accept another form of government based on dictatorship and titles?
I propose an amendment to the Natural Born Citizen clause: That any nominee to public office who shall represent the citizens of the United States be required by law to produce and publish infallible proof of not only United States citizenship but of home based education as well, to ensure that they are not being influenced by foreign entities and being groomed for positions of power whereby they may have the potential of taking us down.
I fear however, that we have been negligent too long in these matters, and that it will require a vast negation of those harmful influences which have already infiltrated our educational institutions and governments in order to restore truth and liberty.

Home based education. OMG, what kind of nonsense is this! Does this also mean that any US citizen with a postgraduate degree from a university outside the USA will be considered having been groomed for positions of power and hence constitutes a danger? Or that children of diplomats born and/or educated in a foreign country should be excluded from public office?

People are failing to recognize the difference between a US citizen and a Natural Born citizen. There is a difference. If there weren’t a difference then the Framers of our Constitution never would have used the words. The document is not meant to be repetitive/redundant. All of the words have INTENT”.

My question remains: Is the child of a diplomat or military personnel and his/her spouse, both American citizens on duty in a foreign country and thus sent there by the US government, a natural born citizen or not? If not then the US Constitution penalizes the children of its own citizens for performing their patriotic duty.

They count as being “natural-born,” because of their parentage. John McCain is an example. Of course, the most direct way is to be born on US soil, like Obama.
These birthers just won’t enter the domain of reality. For example, the person above you who thinks there’s a constitutional provision that both one’s parents have to be US citizens for a child to be “natural-born.” In fact the constitution says nothing about what it means to be “natural-born,” while constitutional law has defined this either as as “being born on US soil” or “being born to natural-born US citizens.”
