Say no to sin

The personal life of Indonesia’s most popular female pop singer of all time Krisdayanti has aroused the ire of hundreds of thousands of Facebookers, with the “Say No to Krisdayanti” page having garnered over 300,000 Likes in short time, including from one of her own children, daughter Titania Aurelia Hermansyah.

The page’s manifesto reads:

This page was made for those who are sick and tired of Krisdayanti and her repeatedly committing adultery, taking other women’s husbands, being hypocritical and amoral, not caring about the feelings of others, and having no shame…

Krisdayanti recently left long time musician husband Anang Hermansyah, and their children, and later admitted to having an affair with married man Raul Lemos, an East Timorese businessman. The diva claimed she did not know Raul was married, to Shechah Salem Sagran alias Ata.

By the way, not directly related to KD, but about being sholehah (pious), at least (or is it more importantly?) in appearance.

Anyone here is wondering what’s with this circle-jerk between indonesian women (is that even possible?), encouraging others to wear jilbab?

I mean, have you came across this picture of your friend / relative in facebook, wearing jilbab (only for a special / religious event, like lebaran), and then suddenly you see comments like: “you look so beautiful in jilbab, i think it’s about time you wear it permanently”. Then, the answer is like: “*Blush*, thank you. Please pray for me that someday I will.” (you know she was only showing some courtesy. Maybe, instead, she wanted to say “oh, thanks. maybe it’s about time you start minding your own business”), and so on.

Hans,as a periodic grass roots observer the real problems stem from the divsion in economic, religious ,cultural & political life where day to day existence is controlled or manipulated in the name of more power & greed for the minority. The disproportinate distribution of wealth & opportunity for a fair & reasonable quality of life that allows the individual to emotionally & physically express themselves similarly to this particular female celebrity is deprived most people in many countries around the world. The majority are led by the nose in conflict & competition , never getting the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of a liberal life that you get the venting of anger towards a defencless identity who enjoys some of these freedoms.Possibley the various cliques of power need to re think how they approach the dumbing down of the masses & how the Media on sells it that creates these outbursts on a subject of individual freedom of no importance to anyone. The real issues of importance seem to be perpetually avoided to the overall detriment & wellbeing of the masses. The phoney dictates of antiquity need to be reconsidered for the sanity of all to progress fairly into the future. 🙂 The gap is widening on how people relate to each other considerately & humanely, too much angst & vitriol being directed to areas of no importance such as whose skin touches whose skin for a few moments of pleasure that in reality all human beings crave for..Consider the real needs in each & everyone’s lives & relax & enjoy what you need to get by with. You have no right to criticise the personnal needs of anyone that is contained within the legal right to do so.(And that includes the bigoted self righteous moralising crusaders of neanderthal religious pioty that allows a believer to have a hoard of wives but no girlfriend :-)……. With discipline you dont need most of the crap that is sold you that loots your pocket as well as your mind. Dont worry what everyone else might be up to.enjoy your life as your god is not going to let you come back & get it right as there is no second time around contrary to some popular beliefs in some quarters. I hope I have expressed myself to some degree in my sleepy stupor this morning which I know does not match my better thoughts prior to going to bed last night.

Interesting post, but I’d like to make a correct (if you don’t mind) that Krisdayanti is not “Indonesia’s most popular female pop singer of all time” because theer are many others who are better like Titi DJ, Anggun C Sasmi, etc.

  4. David says:

Harry, I said ‘most popular’, not ‘best’, they’re not the same.

  5. camion says:

Who cares, opinions are like beliefs, everyone seems to have one that is different to most others,so enjoy it the way you see “BETTER” & “POPULAR” to be to you.Better to me is something I doubt most people would even bother to process the thoughts to comprehend. 🙂

Very recognizable but I’m not convinced if you look at the sheer amount of references to one’s religion in status updates on rather trivial stuff:

“Terima kasih Tuhan Yesus/Alhamdulillah, BBku nyala lagi”

This country is obsessed with religion, especially their neighbour’s religion and subsequently their neighbour’s moral behaviour. No wonder such a silly group can attract so many likes.

Still sounds an awful lot like the US to me.

yes it´s Almost too much, ther we have our house, it’s fine if you go to church or muske, at least 21 times a week. Scarcely believing that it is true, can not believe they have the strength weeks in and out to go. myself, I get opinions gaze, with an agreed basis for my small knowledge of the soul’s preservation.

^Or maybe Indonesia should less concern about outwardly piety appearance/dress code (baju koko-kopiah/sorban) for now but instead should pay more attention to practical aspect and logical manifestation of being religious i.e. to protect basic human values: life, family, property, intellect, dignity, equal justice etc
Like a noted Muslim scholar observed: ” I go to the West and see Islam, but no Muslims; I go east and see Muslims, but not Islam.”

  10. camion says:

    It has often been said…

    Religion is Faith
    Faith is abscence of Reason.
Lack of Reason leads to the Absurd

(such as thoughtless criticism of how you & I should dress, eat, love, think, speak,be educated, work, breed & much more. Its dictates mostly set by a bunch of phonies in funny hats & dresses with no life experience & no family often found to be homosexual & deviate..ie; Catholic Church priests not forgetting the Protestants & many other religious groups.).

Most modern day humans have outgrown the prophets & celestial gods of antiquity but still these loonies of falsehoods have much of the society by the nose when it comes to flogging their fairytales of illogical & irrational impossibility. The harm & discomfort caused by the collusion & collision of all the vested interests is beyond reasonable tolerance to bother to continue. Why would any sane person bother to indulge in any of the phoney beliefs or dictates when you see the results of these charletans. There must be a lot of people content with being treated like dills that have no confidence in their own abilities to live a more normal & pleasant life void of all the insecure fears injected repetively by the religious charletans, not to mention slimey politicians & a sensationalist crazy media. Its simple…live & let live within the constraints of acceptable & reasonable laws set by thoughtful political leaders not manipulated by corrupt lawyers & other greedy vested interests. Smell the Roses 🙂 AAaaaahhhhh!!!!!! I feel better already this morning, better than a five course breakfast serving of the finest fruits of Indonesia topped off with fresh yoghurt & cinnamon. :-)) Your comments please. Dont hold Back, its the only way things change for the better even though a handful of people even have the time to bother to read this stuff. ??

That’s an interesting quotation. Who said it and what was the context?

  12. David says:

I just copy paste from a google search:

This is a quote from Mufti Mohamed Abdu an Egyptian famous eminent reformer of the renaissance born 1899 when he visited England he said that he saw ppl behave like good muslims although they are not, and when he returns back home he sees Muslims do no have Islamic virtue and behaviour.

  13. Astrajingga says:

Insecurity. When they say no to Krisdayanti, when they try to ruin Krisdayanti’s life, they’re actually threatening their spouse.

  14. Yana says:
